Earrings -  ReInvention (as seen here) // Coat - Zara // Sweater - (no brand) // Bag - Zara // Jeans - H&M // Platform Sneakers - H&M

White monochrome, what I wore to Portugal Fashion Day 3. I found this perfect white wool sweater the day before while cleaning up my atelier at school. Someone left it there between piles of paper and fabric. What a waste right? Couldn't believe my eyes when my teacher asked us if we wanted to keep it and I was like "Hell yeah, sure I do." I had been looking for an oversized, warm, white, wool sweater for ages and had never found the perfect one. Never thought I would get it for free during a cleaning afternoon! Sometimes it seems like a bit of luck really does exist. That sweater was waiting for me the whole time (not).

Tea and The Gentlewoman. Tea to keep me calm and a magazine to distract me.
Enjoying my recent buy, one of the best magazines I've ever hold in my hands. Let me tell you, I was kind of obsessed with fashion magazines (huge collection), but lately I started to feel fooled. So much money for magazines with no content, poor editorials and loads of ads. Although The Gentlewoman starts with more than 20 pages of ads, the content balances it out. Where should I start? By the minimal graphic design? Or the breathtaking editorials? Or the inspiring interviews, critics, chronicles and approach to readers? Everything feels so personal. They guide you through the mag. They don't only say which clothes everyone is wearing, they also describe it and explain why, how, where, and so on. Beautiful and intelligent concepts as seen in one of the last editorials, in which they shot the same model wearing the same look at a studio and at an office. Two different places, two different ways of looking at the same look. Simple but effective.
These little details make me feel like it was worth all my money. I have only one thing bothering me: Beyoncé's article in terms of photography should have been better. Felt a bit old-fashioned to me. Still, perfect magazine for the contemporary women.

P.S.: As you know yesterday was the first day of Portugal Fashion here in Porto. Just wanted to say I saw Jean Paul Paula and his amazing Givenchy earrings. #fangirling

I pressed the delete button too much while writing this post, not inspired at all. It just doesn't seem right. Therefore I'm not going to bother you with meaningless words I'm forced to write. Enjoy the photos and rest before another Monday!

First of all I'm sorry for my absence, just a lot of work. Actually I decided to do this post while working with a friend of mine on a presentation we have to do about the Bauhaus. An appropriate theme, because I studied at a german school until the 9th grade, so this rationalism suits me. Now that I think about it, it really influenced me in many ways! My rationality, knowledge , perfectionism, simplicity, austerity, aesthetics feels more german to me than portuguese. Not that I don't like my country or being portuguese, because I do, but most of my life was spent with the german community. So many memories, kind of miss that school. Then again I couldn't be happier with my decision of transferring to an art school. Other opinions, points of view, knowledge, interests, ideas, so many things that changed and fulfilled me. Open minds.
I got to watch "Mon Oncle" staring Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati) last year and since then it remains one of my favorite movies. Old school feeling with a modern touch  to it.  If you haven't seen it yet please do! So worth it.
Still, some of this photos are from "Play Time", from which I have only seen small parts, but I'll be watching it as soon as I can (a.k.a this weekend).
And don't you just love the sets? Even without knowing the story they're stunning and so clean/ fresh/ light. Nothing more to say, it's up to you now!

Earrings - Re Invention

Don't expect much from this post! Just bragging a bit about my new, super long, clean and elegant earrings. As simple as it gets and for the first time having a long neck paid off (15 cm is not normal, I know, still getting used to it).
One of my best thrifts lately, only 3,50€ can you believe it? Planning to photograph a look wearing them. Amazing how two thin lines down my ears and neck can have such a visual impact.

Coat - Zara // Long mesh shirt - Thrifted // Turtleneck - Zara // Trousers - Zara // Shoes - Marques' Almeida

The message today is: dare to wear white! Peaceful and heavenly, but powerful, especially in sunny days like today. Once again I combined my white basics (oh basics, basics) to create a casual yet classy look. Was I successful? It sure deserved a lot of looks at school, but as I always say: if they are going to look, make it worth their while!

Me
